ROCKFEST 2006

When: August 26th, 2006.
Where: Barrabool Hills Baptist Church
Time: Doors Open 6:45PM
Price: $10 - Tickets can be bought from schools, A&B Music or at the door. Please try and pre-purchase your tickets to reduce conjestion at the door.

Event Info.: It's an all ages event, no drugs, alcohol or pass-outs. Headliner is Lost Boy Found, special guests are MakeSHIFT. Competing bands are Head Hunter (Oberon High), Hank (The Geelong College), 13th Month (Christian College), Lost Order (St Josephs College), Jason's Super Happy Friends Club ( Western Heights), Urban Reflections (Corio Bay Senior College), and Light at Day's End (Lara Secondary College).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

GeelongForums is now two years old!

Another momentous occasion in this websites timeline. It was around this time last year that we celebrated our first birthday, since then we have had an explosion of visitors and members.

So, we now have 735 members, 63,702! posts, 2 banned users, 2 suspended accounts and now 6 schools banning this site from their network.

I say that's a pretty decent effort.

During the one year period since our last birthday, we have accumulated over 2.45 million hits...that's insane.

Again, congratulations to everyone on making it such a great site that everyone enjoys to frequent, it wouldn't be anywhere without you guys!

And while we are thanking people, two that I would like to thank in particular are 'Catfink' and 'shibbydays' (pictured below), they are our 'Promo Bitches' and what a fantastic job they do.



Thanks again everyone and hopefully we will be able to report back next year with more interesting and bigger stats.

OOOOHHHHH...AHHHHH!

I'm sure you may have noticed something has changed?

We are now running IPB 2.0, in layman's terms that means that we are running one of the latest versions of IPB (Invision Power Board).

We hope you guys like it, we will eventually upload a couple more skins so you guys can choose between each.

On behalf of the Geelong Forums community, we would like to express our sorrow and heartfelt thoughts to the family, friends and relatives of Hamish Sorensen, who tragically died late last week whilst enjoying time off with friends in Queensland.

He will be remembered for being a caring and loved individual.

It was the perfect night for a cruise, the roads were wet and visability was poor, interesting drive trying to find our way there. 3 cars and 6 people decided to come, and we watched Fantastic 4 and either War Of The Worlds or Monsters In Law. Good times were had by all.

BEAT THE RECORD DAY!

Sunday 5th June 9:30PM!

So, I bet you are wondering what on earth I am talking about?

Sunday 5th of June (9:30PM) is 'Beat the record day'.

The aim of the day is to beat the old Maximum Users Online record for the forum. It is set at 24 users online, almost 1 year ago.

All you need to do to participate is to come online, log in and just hang around the forums and post in the 'Beat the record day' thread, which will be opened by one of the moderators at the time of the event and will be closed after and locked away in time, so we can look back and say, yeah, I was there and I helped.

SO, REMEMBER! set your phone alarms, make a sticky note, MAKE SURE YOU ARE HOME! at 9:30PM to set a new record!
